We respect your privacy. Our applications are designed to minimize access to personal information and to process user-created content locally on your device.
This policy describes our applications' privacy practices, including the WordBugs-specific features explained below.
Data Collection and Usage
Our applications do not require user registration or account creation. We do not require you to provide a name, email address, age, gender, location, occupation, or education to use their core features.
We do not collect user-created app content on developer-operated servers, sell personal information, or use app content for advertising.
Local Data Storage
User-created content, app settings, and saved results are stored locally on your device. Depending on the application, this may include engineering data, analysis results, saved word universes, and attached photos.
Locally stored content may contain personal information if you choose to include it. Local storage does not mean that this content is collected by us or transmitted to our servers.
WordBugs
Camera
WordBugs uses the camera, with your permission, to recognize objects and suggest English words. Camera frames are processed on your device. WordBugs does not record camera video or upload camera frames to our servers.
Selected Photos
You may choose photos using the system photo picker to personalize your word spheres. WordBugs uses the photos you select; it does not scan your entire photo library.
When you save a session, a copy of its attached photos is stored in the app's local storage. These photos are not uploaded to our servers.
Word Suggestions and Pronunciation
WordBugs uses Apple's on-device language features to suggest related words and system speech synthesis to pronounce words. WordBugs does not send words or photos to a developer-operated AI service.
Saved Sessions
Saved sessions may include words, 3D positions, rotations, relationships between words, attached photo copies, and word embeddings used to represent semantic relationships.
This information is stored locally to restore your word universes.
Data Retention and Deletion
Saved content remains in the app's local storage until you delete it or remove the app's local data.
In WordBugs, you can delete saved sessions from the session library. Session deletion removes the saved session and its associated app-managed photo copies. It does not delete the original photos from your photo library.
Device backups, including iCloud or computer backups, may contain app data depending on your device settings. These backups are managed by you and the relevant platform services, not by us. Deleting content in the app does not necessarily remove copies from existing backups.
Permissions
WordBugs requests camera permission when needed for object recognition. You can manage camera access in your device's Settings. Photo selection is handled through the system photo picker.
Third-Party Services
Our applications do not include third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising SDKs that collect user data.
Apple platform services, including the App Store, device backups, and system-managed features, are subject to Apple's privacy policies and your device settings.
Purchases
For any of our applications that offer purchases, payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
Contact Us
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and any information you choose to include. We use this information to respond to your request. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information.
